At BagKraft Ltd, we recognise that we have a responsibility to the environment that goes beyond legal and regulatory requirements. Sustainability is central to our values. We are committed to continually reducing our environmental impact and improving our environmental performance as an integral part of our business strategy and operations.

Our environmental policy also seeks to encourage and influence our customers, partners, and suppliers to adopt sustainable practices.

Responsibility

Overall responsibility for implementing this environmental policy lies with Jon Marling. However, all employees are expected to actively contribute within their roles to achieving the aims and objectives of this policy.

Policy Aims

We are committed to:

Printing & Production

We aim to reduce the environmental impact of our production processes by:

• Using water-based and vegatable-based inks and environmentally friendly products wherever possible.

• Recycling waste inks and converting pigments to create black ink.

• Using reject bags from previous orders during machine setup to minimise waste.

• Applying stringent quality control to reduce production waste.

• Expanding our product range to include more organic and sustainable options.

Paper & Packaging

To reduce paper use and waste, we will:

• Minimise paper usage across our offices and operations.

• Purchase recycled and sustainabably sourced paper products.

• Reuse and recycle paper wherever possible.

• Replace plastic packaging tape with Kraft paper tape.

Energy & Water

We are committed to reducing our energy and water usage through:

• Turning off lights and equipment when not in use.

• Adjusting heating systems for energy efficiency.

• Regularly reviewing energy consumption and efficiency across all departments.

Office Supplies

In our procurement and office management, we will:

• Assess whether a product or service is necessary before purchase.

• Consider the environmental impact of all new purchases.

• Prioritise energy-efficient and environmentally friendly products.

• Reuse and recycle office materials and supplies wherever feasible.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Our cleaning and waste practices include:

• Using eco-friendly cleaning products wherever possible.

• Disposing of waste responsibly via licensed and approved providers only.

Transportation

To reduce travel-related emissions, we will:

• Limit business travel to essential trips only.

• Promote alternatives such as video conferencing and email.

• Support sustainable commuting options:

  • Offer the Cycle to Work Scheme.

  • Provide a company electric bike for local business travel.

  • Only offer electric or hybrid company cars to directors.

• Use sea freight as the default method for importing goods. Air freight will only be used when absolutely necessary for urgent orders.

Marketing

Our marketing strategy prioritises digital communication:

• We have moved away from paper-based marketing.

• We communicate primarily via email and e-newsletters.

• We use social media and YouTube videos to promote our products and share sustainability initiatives.

Monitoring & Improvement

We are committed to:
